Imu
is Finland’s self-appointed National Design Team representing
young Finnish and Helsinki-based designers in international exhibitions
and working as a mediator between young designers and the public.
Imu is an independent organization which aims at facilitating the
transition from student to professional designer by giving young designers
a chance to exhibit their work and talent. Imu represents the future
of Finnish design, offering fresh ideas from emerging designers.
Imu is coordinated by a group of three designers, Elina Aalto,
Krista Kosonen and Saara Renvall.

The works for each individual show are chosen by a jury consisting
of more established Finnish designers such as Timo Salli, Harri Koskinen
and Sari Anttonen. This way the activity stays open and light and
new designers flow in as the older ones becaome more established on
their own.
Imu is based in Helsinki which is a really nice place. |
